Vacancy for the Mattawa Métis Council

Pursuant to Article 32 of the Mattawa Métis Council Community Code, the Council is serving notice of 2 vacancies that currently need to be filled on the Council.

  • Senator
  • Youth Representative
Interested candidates need to send either a Resume or Letter of Intent with recent address and MNO Citizenship number to the attention of the Mattawa Métis Council.

After the close of nominations, all nominated candidates will need to be verified as per MNO Policy #2018-001. Those candidates who do not meet the verification requirements will not be able to participate as a candidate.

This position will remain open until midnight on Monday, June 10, 2024. The Council will inform the successful candidates after their next Council meeting.

This notice may be reposted pending the outcome of this call to fill the vacancies.

Embracing Parenthood: The Adventure Begins!
Dates: Wednesdays in July, August, September 1:30-2:30

Presenters: Cassandra Campbell-Gilbert and Nicole Dube

Join us online every Wednesday from July to September for sessions facilitated by experienced Registered Early Childhood Educators. "Embracing Parenthood” is a platform for caregivers to discuss developmental milestones, self-care strategies, and available resources

To be eligible for the Family Workshops, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • One parent/guardian or Grandparent must be a Métis Nation of Ontario citizen eligible for direct benefits under MNO Policy #2021-001: Eligibility for Direct Benefits Programs and Services Policy.
  • Those not eligible for direct benefits under MNO Policy #2021-001: Eligibility for Direct Benefits Programs and Services Policy, must be an active client with the Healthy Babies Health Children Program.
  • Have at least one child or grandchild, or expecting, between 0-2 years old.
  • Ability to access the internet and have a device to connect to Zoom.
